To Be Foundation for Rights and Freedoms follows with great interest the case of the arbitrary arrest and detention of the media presenter and activist Amatellah Al-Hammadi in Marib Governorate, where her house was stormed and she was arrested at the night of September 13, 2021. It is a dangerous indicator of the increase in violations against women in areas controlled by the internationally recognized government.

This act is belived to be a punishment for her work in the field of defending human rights and her cooperation with English-speaking media agencies.
We call on the security authorities in Marib governorate to release the human rights defender, Amatellah Al-Hammadi, who has been detained for more than 20 days, or publicize her accusation and allow her lawyer to be present in the interrogation sessions in accordance with the provisions of the Yemeni law and constitution.
We also hold the concerned authorities responsible of ensuring the psychological and physical safety of the activist Al Hammadi, who is currently in the Political Security Prison in Marib without any explicit charge.
